Day 1: Hometown - Paris
Your 8 days vacation around Europe begins with your overnight flight to Paris, France. Paris is the largest city in France and is also known as the "City of Lights".
Day 2: Paris
Upon arrival in Paris, you will meet your guide at the airport and you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day will be free for you to discover Paris at your leisure. You can go shopping at the world famous Galeries Lafayette which is a world class department store and is home to many famous luxury brands. You can also sit and enjoy the scenery at one of the many outdoor cafes in Paris as you eat pastry and drink coffee. You can also take an optional River Seine Cruise where you can see some of the most famous monuments like Notre-Dame, the Louvre, and the Eiffel tower as you travel along the river.

Day 3: Paris
Today you will sightsee on both sides of the River Seine. You will see the Arc de Triomphe that stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle. This arch honors those who fought for France, particularly during the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. On the inside and the top of the arc there are all of the names of generals and wars fought. Underneath is the tomb of the Unknown Soldier from the world wars. You will also tour the Eiffel Tower which is a global symbol of France and is one of the most recognizable structures in the world. You will also explore the Notre Dame Cathedral which is considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture in the world. Notre Dame is also an active Catholic church, a place of pilgrimage, and the focal point for Catholicism in France. You will also visit the Palace of Versailles. This site started as just a hunting lodge for King Louis XIII until his son, Louis XIV expanded it and moved the government there. It was also the site where the Treaty of Versailles was signed that ended WW I.

Day 4: Paris - Waterloo - Brussels
Today you will leave Paris and arrive in Belgium. Your first stop will be Waterloo which is best known for the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 where the Allied armies defeated the French armies under Napoleon. Then you will travel to Brussels for a delicious Belgium lunch. Afterwards you will visit the Grand Palace which is the city center and a great place to enjoy one of the many cafes. It is also the place for many concerts and events throughout the year and during the warmer months there is a daily flower market. Many people call this place "One of the most beautiful town squares in Europe". You will also see the Royal Palace which is one of the most beautiful official buildings in the capital, Brussels. This is where His Majesty the King deals with affairs of the state. You will also visit the Palace of Justice which still functions as the supreme court of law for Belgium. You will also be amused at seeing another famous Brussels landmark - the Manneken Pis. It is a small bronze statue of a little boy above a fountain. You will also explore the Atomium. This unique landmark was built for the 1958 Brussels Worlds Fair and is a giant model of a unit cell of an iron crystal that is magnified 165 billion times. You will also visit the Chinese Pavilion and Japanese Tower which are unique sights to see here in Belgium. King Leopold II wanted his park to have exotic monuments so he had them built with woodwork made in Yokohama and Shanghai.

Day 5: Brussels - The Hague - Amsterdam
Today you will leave Brussels and travel to The Hague in the Netherlands. Here you will visit the Peace Palace which is home to the International Court of Justice, Permanent Court of Arbitration, the Hague Academy of International Law, and the extensive Peace Palace Library. In the afternoon you will travel to Amsterdam which is the capital and largest city in the Netherlands. You will explore the city on an Amsterdam canal cruise where you can see historic monuments and famous architecture of this beautiful city.

Day 6: Amsterdam - Cologne - Bonn - Trier
Today you will leave Amsterdam and travel to Cologne in Germany which was founded by the ancient Romans and is one of the oldest cities in Germany. You will explore the most famous Gothic structure in Germany, the Cologne Cathedral. This cathedral was dedicated to the saints Peter and Mary and is the seat of the Catholic Archbishop of Cologne. Afterwards you will journey to Bonn which was the birthplace of Beethoven. You will also visit The University of Bonn which is a public research university and also one of the leading universities in Germany. Afterwards you will travel to Trier in Germany for the evening.

Day 7: Trier - Luxembourg - Reims - Paris
Today you will explore Trier which is the oldest city in Germany. You will visit Porta Nigra (black gate) which was built around 180 AD when the Roman city was surrounded by walls. It was given this name because of the color of the stones. You will also see the Karl Marx house. This is the house where he was actually born and completed his schooling. It is now a museum that displays his letters, poetry, and personal history. Afterwards you will travel to Luxembourg where you will see the Adolphe Bridge which is an arch bridge in Luxembourg City. This bridge has become an unofficial national symbol representing Luxembourgs independence. You will also visit the Grand Ducal Palace which is the official residence of the Grand Duke. After lunch you will travel back to France where you will visit Reims which is best known for its cathedral, where generations of French kings were crowned. You will also visit a champagne cave which is a deep, Roman-era pit devoted to the aging of champagne. You will also visit the Reims Cathedral which is where the kings of France were once crowned. In the evening you will travel back to Paris.

Day 8: Paris - Hometown
Today you will say adieu (goodbye) to Paris as you board your flight back to your hometown.
